About

Fencing Mid South is the regional governing body overseeing the sport of fencing within its geographical remit. This is currently the area north of the Waitaki River in the South Island of New Zealand.

We organise regional and national competitions, co-ordinate amongst our member clubs and generally promote the sport.

We are subordinate to the national body, Fencing New Zealand, and our regional President sits on the national Board. We work closely with the other regions (South, Central and North).

Our legal name is Canterbury Provincial Amateur Fencing Council Incorporated and you will find this on the Incorporated Societies Register. For all intents and purposes we operate as Fencing Mid South, or FMS for short.

Constitutionally our committee consists of three officers, representatives of each of our member clubs, plus however many advisors and special interest groups as may be appointed.
